Parties, Prime Minister & Cabinet, Unit 1, Unit 2

A unified Tory Party?

The Unit 1 Parties topic looks at both the divisions between and within the major political parties. At the moment there are a lots of divisions within the Labour Party, but the Conservatives in contrast look relatively unified at least at a Cabinet level. Bruce Anderson’s piece from Conservative Home explores this relative unity

This makes a good comparisson to the ideas of disunity between the leadership and the back benchers that were evident last October in the Euro Referendum vote.

There are also some interesting points from the point of view of the Cabinet topic in Unit 2.
