Bradford West By- Election

Over the Easter break George Galloway made a return to Parliament. The former Labour Party MP and leader of the Respect Party was elected as MP in Bradford West. (You need to update your stats on the make up of Parliament- its not just Caroline Lucas representing a minor party in England now!)

By- Elections do throw up odd results- historically they have been fertile territory for those perennial occupants of opposition, the Liberal Democrats. Now the Liberals are in government and Labour are failing to get any traction in the opinion polls it seems logical that minor parties could be the beneficiaries.

The result is analysed in detail here: http://http://blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpolicy/2012/03/30/bradford-west-by-election-baston/#more-22185
